Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 9, 2026
Aldyr (“we,” “us,” “our”) is a home management platform built by Aldyr, Inc. in Atlanta, Georgia. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.
We believe your home data is yours. We designed Aldyr with that principle from day one.
What We Collect
When you use Aldyr, we collect:
- Account information: Your email address and password (passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text).
- Home profile data: Your home address, property details from public records, and any information you share about your home — systems, documents, photos, repairs, service history, and attributes.
- Conversation data: Your messages with Aldyr and Aldyr's responses.
- Photos and documents: Any images or files you upload, including photos of systems, data plates, warranties, invoices, and inspection reports.
- Phone number: If you provide your mobile number for SMS notifications — including appointment reminders, maintenance alerts, warranty expirations, emergency notifications, and high-value activity alerts. Your number is only used to send messages you have opted into. See our SMS Terms for full details about our messaging program.
- Provider-submitted data: Service providers you work with (HVAC technicians, plumbers, etc.) can submit service reports, photos, and invoices to your home profile via a secure link you share with them. You control who receives a link, and you are notified when a submission is made.
- Forwarded emails: Each home has a unique Aldyr email address. Emails sent to this address — by you or by your service providers — are automatically processed. We extract attachments, sender information, and service details from the email body to update your home record.
- Voice input: If you use the microphone feature in the Aldyr app, your voice is transcribed to text using Groq's Whisper API. The audio is not stored after transcription. The transcribed text is processed as a normal chat message.
- Video walkthrough (optional): If you record a video walkthrough of your home, the video is processed to identify systems, conditions, and details visible on camera. The raw video is automatically deleted within 24 hours of upload. We keep the structured data extracted from it — not the video itself.
- Usage data: Page views, feature usage, and error reports to help us improve the product. We do not use advertising trackers.
How We Use Your Data
Your data is used to:
- Build and maintain your home profile
- Provide personalized home management advice and troubleshooting
- Send you proactive notifications — maintenance reminders, appointment alerts, warranty expirations, and emergency updates via SMS and in-app
- Improve the Aldyr product and experience
We do NOT:
- Sell your data to anyone, ever
- Use your data to train AI models
- Share your data with advertisers
- Share your personal information with third parties except as described below
- Share your mobile phone number with third parties for marketing purposes
- Store raw video footage — walkthroughs are processed and deleted within 24 hours
- Store voice recordings — audio is transcribed and discarded immediately
Third-Party Services
Aldyr uses the following services to operate:
- Anthropic (Claude): Powers the AI assistant. Your conversations and home data are sent to Anthropic's API to generate responses. Anthropic does not use API data to train their models, and API logs are automatically deleted within 7 days. This is a contractual commitment under Anthropic's commercial API terms, not a consumer setting. See Anthropic's API data policy at anthropic.com/policies.
- Groq: Processes voice audio for transcription (Whisper API). Audio is sent to Groq for transcription and is not retained after processing.
- Google (Gemini): Processes video frames during home walkthroughs. Individual frames are sent to Gemini's vision API for analysis. Frames are not stored after processing.
- Supabase: Hosts our database and authentication. Your data is stored in Supabase's cloud infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit.
- Google Maps & ATTOM: Used to look up property details and display maps and satellite imagery for your address. Your address is sent to these services to retrieve property data.
- Twilio: Delivers SMS messages (notifications, verification codes). Your phone number and message content are sent to Twilio for delivery. Twilio does not use this data for marketing. Your mobile number is not shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
- Resend: Delivers email notifications and processes inbound emails forwarded to your home's Aldyr email address. Email addresses, message content, and attachments are sent through Resend for delivery and receipt.
- PostHog: Product analytics. We collect page views and feature usage to understand how people use Aldyr and improve the experience. PostHog does not receive your home profile data, documents, or conversation history.
- Sentry: Error monitoring. When something goes wrong in the app, error details and browser information are sent to Sentry so we can diagnose and fix issues. Sentry does not receive your home profile data or conversation history.
- Vercel: Hosts our web application.
We do not share your home profile details, documents, photos, or conversation history with any parties beyond what is necessary to operate the services described above.
Content Screening
Every photo, document, and video frame uploaded to Aldyr is automatically screened before processing. This screening checks for content that is not home-related — including faces, identification documents, medical records, and financial documents outside of home expenses.
If flagged content is detected, it is discarded immediately without being stored or processed. You receive a notification that the content was not imported. The screening result is logged (category only — never the content itself) for security audit purposes.
We built this because your home photos sometimes contain things you didn't intend to share. The screening runs automatically so you don't have to think about it.
Data Security
We take security seriously:
- All data is encrypted in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest
- Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms
- Database access is protected by row-level security — you can only access your own data
- We use secure, scoped API keys for all third-party services
No system is 100% secure. If we ever become aware of a data breach affecting your information, we will notify you promptly.
Your Data, Your Control
You can:
- Access your data anytime through the Aldyr app (your home profile, documents, and conversation history).
- Correct your data by telling Aldyr to update any details about your home.
- Delete your data by contacting us at privacy@aldyr.ai. We will delete your account and all associated data within 30 days. If you want immediate deletion, let us know and we will prioritize it.
- Export your data by contacting us at privacy@aldyr.ai. We will provide your data in a standard format.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding the personal information we maintain about you. Regardless of your location, Aldyr extends the following rights to all users:
- Access. You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction. You may request that we correct inaccurate information.
- Deletion. You may request that we delete your personal information. Where deletion would affect records belonging to another user (for example, a service provider whose contact information appears in a homeowner's record), we will anonymize your identifying information rather than delete the underlying record.
- Portability. You may request a copy of your data in a portable format.
- No sale. Aldyr does not sell your personal information.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@aldyr.ai. We will respond within 45 days. California residents may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA). If you are a California resident and have questions about your rights, please contact us at the address above.
Cookies
Aldyr uses a small number of cookies to operate:
- Authentication cookies: These keep you logged in. They are essential for the Service to function and cannot be disabled.
- Preference cookies: These remember your settings, like whether the sidebar is collapsed. Stored in your browser's local storage.
We do not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or third-party cookies for retargeting. We do not serve ads and do not allow third parties to place cookies through our Service for advertising purposes. PostHog, our analytics provider, may use a cookie to distinguish unique visitors — this data is used solely to improve Aldyr.
Children's Privacy
Aldyr is not intended for use by anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the app. The “last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
